Ornithological Importance

Birds typical of northern hardwood communities, such as pileated woodpecker, Eastern wood-pewee, least flycatcher, black-throated blue warbler, ovenbird, and scarlet tanager are common or abundant breeders at this site.  Conifers and wetter forests hold a diversity of other species, including golden-crowned kinglet, winter wren, Swainson’s thrush, and Nashville warbler.
